Look what I found when 4 weeks ago when I removed my summer tires ...

This happen on my driver-side-rear and the tire has maintain inflated up to the point I removed them at 7600km.

I have dealer tire warranty that should cover this.

The same thing happen 2 weeks ago to my winter tire. On the same driver-side-rear. This time the tire went flat. It was not a run-flat so I inserted the 'slim' and brought it back up. Lost pressure for a day or two. But seemed to hold up this whole week. My local mechanic shop could not find the puncture. So the slim really worked. And no tire warranty on my winters.

??? Maybe the 50/50 ratio BMW is so high on doesn't apply to assist the balance of getting punctures with the other tires ???

I always wonder why I purchased Tire & RIM Warranty for $995 CDN when i picked up the car.

The dealer replaced the tire completely under the warranty claim.

Just curious, I looked up an the cost from tirerack.com and was quoted $466.64 US. With 20cents on the dollar that would of added to 559.97 CDN.

So I figure another flat (within 30 months of lease) and I am winning the warranty back completely.


For those that are about to get into a BMW and with economy problems, think about the little insurance.

do you know if the warranty is still under effect if you were to powder coat the rims?

Probably not. They cover OEM equipment with no modifications.
