I don't see it happening in the US. I went to the m studio on my ED and world wide they were going to make units but for the US they could not import this engine in 2012 was my understanding.

All i know is production then delivery takes over a month i see them maybe finishing allocations from 2011 and delivering them in 2012 jus to clarify but nothing more. I had my 1m preordered for 8-9 months before it even started being produced, and you really need to stop attacking ppl just because you CA is in germany i cant tell you how many times bmw even bmw NA managers have lied to people, no one will know till it happens people have been told many lies throughout this process and alot of people thought thwy had a car and got it ripped away from them. They will have a set number for allocations in the NA and if a couple run into 2012 they will finish them but no 2012 builds sry bud

No. Over the past year it is has been priority for the US Market because of production limitations and emissions regulation.
Now it is the opportunity for others to get behind the wheel of the 1er M Coupe. As Dr.Segler said - Not everyone will own this car.

Please not again!!!
The last Allocations for the US were in October. NO new Allocations for November let alone December, January, February or March. Sorry that ship with all the US bound 1M's has sailed.

Getting back on topic...
I thought BMW will continue to build the e82 and e88 128i/135i's for another year or two. No? I know the 1M will end soon - when that will really be remains to be seen. But I thought the new F2x Coupe will not be coming out for another year and half or so. No??? |

First, I'm literally embarrassed to own the same car as some of you. Please try not to act like 5th graders.
Second, I emailed Christine Fleischer (M chick) this morning and she said the following: "I wonder who was telling you that more cars will be brought to the US. It is a limited production (limited already by sheer capacity issues at the factory and the tool designed to produce parts for the 1M) and October is the last production month for the US. So the cars hitting the ground by the end of this year will be it." Sounds like no change from what we've been heard previously.

If you are in Europe. You could possibly put in an order for the car and hope for the best.
I know of some who have in the last two months who got an allocation. Including my son who gets his Valencia Orange car in early December. However , they will not order a car on the european allocation for the US Market though. No US Production whatsoever the time has past. We are now preparing to build customer orders of the CRT M3 Sedan.

I know the F20's have started to roll out. Heck I even saw two myself being built before my eyes in Leipzig! What I was asking is... Leipzig will continue to build 1M (ECE, non US spec cars), along side of X1's and e82's and e88's (128i/135i's). Leipzig CAN built many different cars at one time one right after the other in a "mixed" production. The new F22 (I think the Coupe is called that!?) won't be out for almost two more years. So... what will BMW built until then? and then much latter the M2 in what four years from now? I think once the 1M has ended production (EOP, some time in 2012) we might see a hotter 135iS or something like that. I don't have any first hand knowledge... its just that BMW has done that with the 335iS and now the 335i Performance model. We now see a limited edition M3 coupe... Why would not BMW do that for the 135i ? BMW needs a small coupe until the F3x coupe comes out next year. Can anyone point me to a updated F20/F30 production schedule>??? Dackel |

So BMW will NOT have any two door coupes for a year or so? No 1er and no 3er's. ??? That doesn't make any sense. The new 3er (F30) just started production - but only the four door sedans. I don't think the coupe are planned for another year. ? |

Thanks for those Links Ian. I will post the EOP dates bellow... Here is the I4 switchover and end of production schedule:
I don't think this info is totally true bc in September when I was at Leipzig they were still building e81 two door hatches. I know Regensburg Werk stopped producing the e87 and has switched over to cranking out F20 four door hatches. This month Leipzig should start production of the F20 there as well. But on both of my tours our guide said that Leipzig would continue to build X1's, F20's and e82's/e88's until the spring time. Perhaps I need to contact BMW for more details on EOP and SOP for the F20 & F30's. You guys might remember this screen shot I poste last year. it created quite the stir! Looks like some of those number were right. Even the new M3 is rumored to have 430 PS. Albeit with a different engine. Just some fuel for the fires. |

Very true ^^^ this is. At the Toronto International Auto Show this year I meet a BMW Sales Manager. He and I stood at the 2012 M3 I ask him a simple question (not wanting to bend down and hurt my back) I asked him "What type of tires come with the 2012 M3?" he replied "Run-Flat-Tires" I just looked at him and walked away ...

I think I remember the tour guide at Leipzig saying the current 1 series will continue to be built in China for local markets. Once production ends at Leipzig it will begin in the far east. I assumed that was excluding the M model.
Either way that has zero bearing on US production. |
