no idea, my 135 has only 2 pedals.

however, the z4m was like this as all the e46s.

was a 3/8 bolt, these new ones look like a push pin of sorts.

in my current car 1 1/2 inch was right, huge difference shortening that stroke so much. The felt pad prevents it from clicking when the metal hits metal.

Just a heads up. After installing the clutch stop, to start my car, I now need to push the clutch extra hard to the floor. With the clutch stop installed, if I press gently on the clutch until the clutch stop engages, the engine won't start as it doesn't believe I have the clutch pressed. So I just need to squeeze it a little bit tighter to start the car.

As I said, just wanting to warn people about my experience with it so you are wise to the issue when your car doesn't start all of a sudden. I like to think of it as an extra security measure for any thieves haha!

So I was contemplating getting the Ebay clutch stop but in the meantime I was using the furniture felt pads stacked up. Surprisingly enough, they are actually holding up really well. I went to see if I could add a couple more today and when I tried to take it off, it was stuck on there really good and I had to tear it off. I added a few more and it ended up being way too much and really unstable. In the end, I used 6 stacked on top of each other wrapped REALLY tight with electrical tape and got the perfect height. On first start I had to push in the clutch hard to get it to start. After that it seems to be fine, probably due to them compressing after a little bit of use. In the end, I think I'm just going to stay this route because it seems to be working fine. If anyone else is interested these are the pads I used:
http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1...atalogId=10053

I used the smallest ones (3/4") which I think you can get in there own packs without all the others. I just had this around because of our wood floors. Again, I used 6 which seemed to be the perfect height. Be careful when putting together because once they are stuck, they are stuck. If you try to pull them apart the glue comes off and it becomes useless.

Not sure if this is helpful to anyone but it seems to work for me.

ok, so 6 was too much, finally had a blow out. 5 is probably more like it because when it's too tall it starts to bend and stuff. I will say though, that without it now really sucks. I was so use to it that when it was gone my shifting was terrible. Bought the one off ebay finally but I'll see how long my new homemade one lasts before putting it in.

rofl! That's what happens when you try to save yourself $14. I think for a mechanical mod (one that could potentially cause damage to your clutch!) that paying out cash for reasonable quality is warranted.

Having said that, I love to save a buck myself. And I love pulling my cars apart and modifying whatever I can safely. But yeah... good option shelling out $$ for the ebay version which so many swear by.

I purchased the same piece and had the same problem. I had mine installed for probable about 4 months and loved it.

I sent the seller a message and he replied back within a couple hours saying he would send me a new one the next day at no cost. Excellent service! I'll update when I receive it if it's different and how it works out.

I'm pleased and impressed so far.

Just installed the adjustable clutch stop....took literally 30 seconds. Did it entirely by feel. Haven't driven around with it yet. I'll post a review tomorrow.

Got mine too. Perfect height, easy install, dig it! Took me more time to fit down by the pedals then to install it.

Just got the clutch stop from pickyeater, super easy install by feel only but noticed the same issue with having to really step on the clutch to start the car.

Maybe I should shave it down a tiny bit? Thoughts?

Otherwise, great mod!

I absolutely LOVE this mod as well, best $20 spent so far! IMO!

Makes my shifts so much smoother, next I need to get the CDV out.

Guys I made a bunch of clutch stops up for testing/sale through Helix, let me know if anyone wants to try one(would love to get some out in the field prior to a general release) I can sell them for $15 shipped! It works incredibly well and this in addition to a CDV is a HUGE change over stock, what a difference!

Interested -- is it adjustable? What makes it different from pickyeater's?

The plastic base with splines is kind of cheesy (BMW's fault, not the maker of the aftermarket clutch stop).

I installed a clutch stop on my E36 15 years ago. It was adjustable because the hole had threads and the clutch stop had a "stop nut", so you could adjust the height to your liking.

Still, I'll have to try one in my 135. Any other alternatives? I see http://www.khoalty.com/bmw-pedals/cl...edal-stop.html, but not loving that one either...

my thoughts exactly. I had the little part sitting in my armrest for months now and finally remembered to pop the sucker in today

incredibly easy and I was really surprised how big of a difference it made in my shifts (on stock 6MT with stock CDV... that's the next thing to go!)

didn't notice any problems with starting up the car, i snagged mine off eBay
