Error Codes And Almost Limp Mode
When I was coming from from work today, my car hesitated then gave me a warning on dash stating engine was over heating to drive moderately (Yellow Light). So I was then trying to get over to a safe place to stop. Before I could get there got another message stating that engine was over heating and to stop the car immediately (Red Light). I got pulled over and then pulled error codes from my Cobb AP V3. I got the following codes:
ECU -P3792 -P377A -P2CF4 I have tried to Google these and I can't find these anywhere. I did find a list of error codes in a .pdf for my N55, however these were not in there. If anyone is able to help, I would be grateful. I have a 2011 135i DCT N55. |

Look at the second column of that N55 error codes sheet and you will see the 0X3792 code versus looking at the 6th column with the P references.
The 3792 is the coolant pump. Hope that helps. |

Thank you for clarifying that. So maybe water pump has gone out?

Just from what I have seen on these forums, I wouldn't automatically assume it's the pump. It may be a broken thermostat, wiring harness loose to the pump, and then maybe it's the pump. I try and go from check the cheaper solutions to more expensive solutions. But that's all I have as I haven't had this issue.

My water pump went at 44k, same issues. This car is prone to having water pump issues between 30-60k. A forum search will pull up a number of threads outlining the issue. If it IS the water pump you are looking at between 700-1000 dollars to fix if you are outside warranty as the pump is a $500 part and you may need a new thermostat as well... Best of luck.

My car currently has 55k miles on it. I have an extended warranty I bought so that should fix that if that is the issue.
