Arrow OEM BBK, almost.

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share some pics of a brake upgrade I did. The upgraded parts are:
-CSL rotors (requires custom bracket)
-F30 backplates
-Goodridge stainless steel break lines
-RB caliper pistons
- Pagid RS29 brake pads
- Castrol SRF brake fluid

I've yet to put it through a track session but I will try to update once I do.

^^that setup looks sweet!

But why did you have to change your brake caliper pistons? Or were your old ones damaged/cracked?

The dust boots were definitely cracked, but the pistons were in decent shape. I decided since I would have the caliper off for the brake lines, I could do the pistons.

I'm not sure how necessary it was but I've never run racing brake fluid, so I don't think I gave them a chance to crack.

They are diesel boost adapters/brackets. You can PM tro-nik for details on ordering, if you're interested.

There is a reason but not a good one. I removed the extend caliper weights because I preferred how it looked. I also read, they are there just to reduce noise and by removing them you can save a bit of unsprung weight. It may not be much but in addition to M3 suspension bits, csl rotors and lightweight wheels it adds up.

I may end up putting them back on later down the road.

The install was relatively easy, just be sure to select a brake pad that is not too thick. I had to remove the OEM shims to squeeze in the pagids. I think the OEM pads would have fit a lot better.

What's your wheel/tire setup? Looks like a 17" Apex wheel up front...

The pistons are "Racing Brake" stainless steel pistons. They sell a kit.

The wheels are Apex EC-7's but they are 18's with RS3's. I am very curious to try some 17" ARC-8's. If they fit, it would be my ideal track setup!

What are the dimensions of the CSL rotor upgrade? They look much thicker than stock.

Stock rotors are: Front -> 13.3in 338mmx26mm

345x28mm are the dimensions of the csl rotors. They are also almost 2lbs. lighter, I believe.

I will probably wait until it starts falling apart before replacing it.

The labor cost is just , especially I do not have the tools to DIY
