It definitely would be but the only and I mean only draw back to the 1M is the n54 under the hood.. if it came with the s65 then hands down would be the best M car ever

Not a real M car if it doesn't have a real M motor, which is the soul of a car IMO.

They should have called this an M135i or maybe a M135tii.

People who have not driven it usually say negative things about non M this or that. If you drive it and don't like it you are probably not a fan of the drivers cars BMW is famous for.

Nope.. I've owned two n54 cars one stock and one fbo they have too much peak torque and run out of steam at around 5500rpm.. plus they overheat like crazy!
A true M car has never been about torque, if you want that out of a bmw get a 550i... I'll stick with my fire breathing, rev it to the moon s65 all day long!

The 1M is kind of ugly. I think they look worse than a regular m-sport 1 series. Handing is good except for the wheelbase. And you can't bitch about the engine unless you can identify what's actually wrong with including it in this car, since overall the N54 is a badass engine. What's actually wrong with it? Correct me if I'm wrong but there are oiling issues once you start turning hard enough. Like for extended periods or on slicks.

Multiple m cars in the stable, 1M gets the best garage slot and best of my cars while my s engine car sits in the driveway; 1M's special. Go drive one.

There something special about this car everything seem to be exactly the way it should be: brake feel, steering feel, clutch engagement, sound etc. Even 7 years down the road I'm still unable to sell it.

We should require everyone that comments to post what "real" M cars they own or even have owners! I have 3 in the garage now and have owned E30 M3(2), E36 M3, E46 M3, E 39 M5, E60 M5 and a whole lot of non-M BMW's and I can tell you the 1M is a real M car.

I just drove F80 M3, then newest M4, thinking I might have to trade my 1M for some newer tech, a fancy newer ///M. Realistically though I have driven E36s, E46s and E92 M3s, and this little fuggly 1M is definitely one of the best BMWs I've ever driven. And since it's not a true M car, if I sell it sadly depreciation is probably +10% since I bought her brand new...can't say that for the S65/M3s.
