I'd bet it'll be the first over 100K.

I hope it hits high. I don't plan on not driving mine but can't hurt resale value if I ever do sell it 🤑

I don't think the valuations are that high just yet. One potential issue is that there are a lot of them with low miles. Mine has just under 13k miles on it - I figure it's top 15% in terms of miles at best. Fast forward 5-10 years and the 1k mile cars will stand further apart. Not that I would recommend that as an investment. You can't drive it and will most likely underperform the stock market.

EAG is trying to sell one with 14k miles for 70k. you have to call for the price on their low mileage vehicles which i presume are at the 100k mark. this person got a good deal.

does anyone know if you have to pay sales tax from a BAT purchase? In Arizona private party transactions dont require sales tax which is a huge perk...

What is really disheartening is that this car wont ever be driven... it will just sit in someone's collection appreciating in value.

Proven to not be true. Even the E30 M3 " bubble car " was eventually sold and driven.

I feel like the buyer of the E30 M3 wanted to piss someone off.

It's their money and they can choose what they do with it.

With that said, it's one thing to drive it as is and it's another to take it and then mod it to track. If tracking was their goal, they could have purchased any other car or any old E30 M3 and did a race build. I'm not a fan of buying and making any car a garage queen but after all these years that it's been kept almost new, it makes no sense to take it and the make it a race car. If the buyer bought it, left it stock and drove it, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

Just very sad to see a rare E30 become something that could be done to any other vehicle.

The E30 M3 community ended up in a HUGE uproar over this. Having been aware of the car for a decade before it went up for sale.. I concur.. One hates to see a car that was an established Garage Queen (GQ) turned into a track rat...... something that could be done with any other used example of the car.

IIRC.. the buyer wanted a " clean slate" to begin their project with, and paid dearly to do so.... It certainly seemed foolish at the time... but people can spend their money how they wish.

the buyer thought they were simply making the coolest project car.. and was not prepared for the backlash. He did continue unabashed however.. much to the dismay of the E30 M3 SIG and many on S14.net

Obviously it depends on the buyer and their goal for the car. However most of us would buy a car like that and probably feel a bit worried about driving it on the road.
Imagine you take out your perfect e30M and all the sudden you get rear ended at the stop light. Assuming everyone is ok, most of us would cringe at the loss... but if you have lots of cars and can afford car collecting as a hobby, maybe you dont care about that and therefore feel its worth driving. dont save it for the next guy...
