Unbelievably generous of you to supply so much information for the meek...Does anybody know of a DIY with the BMW adhesive kit instead of the double edge tape...

Great video. I wonder how much BMW would charge to do the install?

Great video, thanks for posting. Now I know that I can do this and I won't have to pay to have it done.

whew I just got done with the install using the Betalink stuff (aka bmw goop). right now it's all taped down and curing.

using the goop isn't nearly as easy as the adhesive tape AT ALL. it's pretty tricky and a good bit messy. hopefully the mess will clean up nicely with a little bit of elbow grease. Will report back for those interested.

So, I pulled all the painter's tape off. The excess goop cleaned up nicely (with a bit of work) using the provided spatula/scraper + betaclean solution.

However, I noticed that both of corners of the CF spoiler didn't adhere properly to the trunk--there was a visible gap, R side > L side. So, I taped off the corners completely, squirted some leftover goop into a zip lock bag, cut the corner of the bag, and went to town on filling the gaps. I eventually had to use some clamps just like the ones in the DYI e90post as I couldn't get the edges to lay flat with just tape/weights. Right now it's all curing AGAIN, so hopefully once it's done it'll looking alright.

Will post back with updates and some pictures once I pull everything off.

Phew, that was fun. That old adhesive just did not want to come off.

Hey John, I have a question.

just how sturdy is your CF wing on your car? I went to my local auto parts store today to buy the same 3M tape that you used. I have the same CF as you do on the way and I'm getting all my ducks in a row.

my only concern is that the one guy at the auto parts store told me there's no way in hell that he'd ever trust double-sided tap with a $400 CF wing. this got me thinking if I should abort this idea and go with the BMW goop route.

so what do you think?
