Will I rub?
Hey guys I'm going for something with this setup....
Size: 19x8.5 ET 40 F, 19x9.5 ET 45 R Tires: 225/35/19 F, 255/30/19 R Will I rub generally speaking (of course many things go into it like how much I roll and the tire brand)? I will lower it as far as I know I wont rub on stock springs but I will rub when lowered. Antone have a similar wheel setup? I want to know how much fender rolling i need to do.

only question is the rear, but I would bet you would be fine without mods. The breyton guys et48 use 255 all the time, 3mm difference. front should be fine IMO

whats the big deal on fender rolling? Is it a permanent thing? Whats involved when you roll fenders?
Is it usually cheep to roll fenders? Id like to get 19in rims too and lower a bit -1" max. And have similar ride feel to stock. rims i want, or something similar that fit the 1er : http://www.wheelsto.com/ezmart.php?q...&ListNo=100000 |

And Jzhang you will rub.. it is not the whole fender but it will be the area where the rear bumper and rear fender connects.. You are ok on speed bumps and flat roads but once you drive into deeps or pot holes you'll hear that annoying loud sound that will convince you to roll lol... |

Btw, you'll still rub some even rolled if you lower in the range you mentioned. Trimming the liner and maybe even the fender will be required to completely eliminate rubbing. I'm using 245/35's and rolled and last night with a 300lb passenger I even rubbed sometimes just under hard acceleration with slight bumps. My front et is 43, same tires as you propose, and I think it's rubbed a tiny amount 3-4 times also.

I ran the max camber you can with the pins removed, it helps a little but you have to flip your tires more to help with the wear. I dont think it's worth it. Just wait for 19x8 and 19x9 wheels, and you'll be fine.

That is 5mm more agressive front and rear than my setup and I rub a little front and rear with stock springs and M3 arms giving me a bit more camber. My rubbing is rare, but I am very concerned about rubbing when I put the suspension on the car. Be careful, 5mm extra is quite a bit in my opinion.

10's possible, someone is running 20x10, but you'll probably have to get your fender cut by a body shop, and have a custom wheel offset of 63 or so in the rear. I wouldn't want to do any track days, or aggressive driving on mountain roads with this setup tho.

We are currently running 19x8.5 +40 and 19x9.5 +48 with 225/45 and 255/30 tires. We are also lowered on H&R sport springs, which are one of the lowest (if not the lowest) lowering springs on the market. We have zero rubbing, and could probably throw a 5mm spacer on with no rubbing.

dont worry its just for rolling to work, I figure theres like 1" gap between the wheel and fender to work with so I want to use all of it. Even with lowering.

you could definitely fit a 10" with a good roll, some camber, and stretched tires.
