Did BMW give you those numbers 0-60 numbers or are they just speculative? Good article btw.

Thanks, Tuned1: We estimated ourselves and it happened to coincide with BMW's estimate.

Thanks for the update! It's cool to see somebody from C/D here. Try to convince BMW to make it loud and eliminate the top-end torque drop of the N54!

I love your magazine and testing by the way, I'm subscribed. =)

If it's going to cost $43k stateside I sure hope that cost differential versus original estimates makes it to the UK. I somehow doubt it will start here at £35k-£38k though that would be very good.

I wished it would be 43K can$, but we can dream. That's the price of a 128i here. Even with the exchange rate going over the 1/1.

Expect it to be right between the 135i/335i and the M3.

btw... they should just have called it a 135is, we now know the engine is the same one from the 35is.

43 base! meaning no nav, power seat, leather, and other creature of comfort like ipod integration, hdd mp3 storage but who cares, you are buying a sports focused car.

Nope.. can't be done! If they maintained even 330 lb-ft torque to redline it would be 450hp.. way too much for the lowly 1 series!

If that 4.3 is a BMW claim, then every other review missed it, cause they didn't mention that number
.
Best I've read for the 135i MT is 4.6, but that's from a BMW claim of 5.1.
For BMW to claim 4.3, I find it odd.
I'm sure it will be quicker than a 135i, but to get to 4.3 there is some serious gearing going on, especially in the final drive.
To improve that much with such a modest increase in power, gearing has to be towards the short end. MPG wont' be so good, but that probably doesn't matter so much to those who will get this car.
