1 more for the road review
http://www.windingroad.com/articles/...src=Nextscreen
This one shows a much higher estimated price. No talk about bigger turbo's, or broader power band. They claim this "N54" is the same as the Z4is version. 0-60 estimates are at 4.7 in this article, if anyone is keeping score. .4 sec better than the 135i? Sounds reasonable. Pretty much all the reviews have been extremely happy with the handling. But, since BMW got it wrong for us 1 owners, they had to get this one right. Happy reading. |

Love the use of wide angle on the cover shot of the article. The distortion makes the 1 look wider and meaner.
Its really sad that BMW is just giving us the car that the 135 shouldve been to begin with but the standard up from the 135 was set so low because BMW shot the 1 in the foot with our atrocious suspension. |

1. About HALF of 1M production will head to USA
2. The 4.7 seconds is in regard to Z4 iS, NOT 1M 3. No carbon fiber or "special materials" 4. $55k! Yeouch.

Well, you can forget all that. The new car is fitted with a turbocharged straight six. Turbocharging? In an M car? That’s like putting gravy on an ice cream. - Jeremy Clarkson, discussing the S65 and then S55 M3 engines. |

Scott said so himself that the 135i was meant to be a M but for a reason I can't remember, they scrapped that.

They also got the 135i DCT BMW claimed time wrong. The DCT is listed by BMW at 5.0, 5.1 for the MT. No biggie, well all make mistakes. |

Sure, the 1M suspension is fantastic, but if the 1 series sport suspension would have been correct the first time out, there wouldn't be such a dramatic difference. Don't get me wrong, an M suspension is going to be fantastic. I'm just comparing, and bitching, that our 1's should have had at least 7-8/10ths of what the 1M has now. When they did the 2011 N55 BMW should have spent a couple hundred more and put proper dampers in there and tuned it better. It BETTER happen for the next 1. Grrrr |

they also got the price wrong--$55k is M3 sedan level. Mr. Biermann said the price was not fixed and closer to the 135i level. My base price est. would be $46k without options.
And still driving the test mule, so I hope the interior gets an M-trim with better seats. |

I am not sure why they chose to go with only 19" wheels, wouldn't 18" be cheaper ?

Yea, good review but that base price of $55,000 would guarantee that I would NOT be getting one. That's crazy.
