German Christmas Markets...
Weihnachten Markts…
I thought I would share with you some of the sights of winter and Christmas time in Germany. Almost every city has a Christmas Market. You can find delicious eats (glühwein, stollenkuchen, bratswurst, ect..) and special hand made gifts for your loved ones. Here are some of my favorite Weihnachten Markets. I personally think Nürnberg’s is the nicest Christmas Market in Germany. With Dresden & Erfurt’s close behind. Strausbourg’s (France is also very nice) Many of the Christmas markets in and around my area (Bayern) are very nice. You really can not go wrong with visiting some of them. Kind of like the Beer… the Germans just don’t make bad beer! (or.. wine for that matter!) Get out there and try some! Dackel My little sleepy village and its old Rathaus…  Coburg…   The grand old Rathaus…  Some of the huts…         On a side note… a good German friend of mine pointed out this famous flag maker of Coburg. This company supplied Hitler with all his top flags. Seems Hitler’s early years had its roots in Coburg.   One of the old clock towers of Coburg.  Nürnberg… der beste Christkindlesmarkt! The famous fountain of Nürnberg       zwetschge menschen aka little prune men…        Back in the day…              Nürnberger Rostbratwürsten…    Sweets...        Gingerbread...    Bratwurst made out of Marzipan!    NussKrackers...       Nürnberg’s Christkind Angel… the symbol of the Christmas Market here…    The Frauen Church in the Market Platz…  Bears...        Schucco Models...         Nürnberg’s Kaiserburg (Castle)  And some sights of Nürnberg...     The famous Holly Ghost Restaurant in middle of photo…  Crowds…    A famous Christmas store…  The old Armory… today it’s a Polizei substation! lol   I would recommend you take the train to Nurnberg. Munich…          Good luck pigs…       Rothenburg…  Rathaus…         Rothenburg’s famous “snow balls”…      Wurzburg…        Bamberg…  A local backery made to look like a ginger bread haus!             Salzburg, Austria…            Looks like Borat gives English lessons!          Looking down onto the Stadt of Salzburg... Wow- thanks for posting, makes me want to go back for more dunkel, candied almonds and brats! Christmas time seems magical there. I see your in Bamberg. Mahrs Brau is some of Germanys finest!

Yea... the Bamberg Mahrs Brau is good beer. I love the smell of the beer brewing downtown in the air as you walk past.
At this years Weihnachten Markts - that have something new. Glühbeir (hot beer). Sounds strange but I gonna have to try it in the next few days. Dackel |

In heaven they serve Bratwurst mit brot.
 Very beautiful pictures. I have very fond memories of Heidelberg and Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

 A nice Christkindlmarkt with some Minus Degrees and a (few) Glühwein and some heisse Maroni... Thats a fine Thing
