Do you have to get the SatNav for the mobile application prep? That's the new mobile office stuff with the BlackBerry or iPhone onscreen connection I believe.

The mobile app - I am pretty sure that allows you to browse the net when the car is not moving???

Did they get you a build slot/allocation or just a spec sheet with options and prices? Did you get a fully delivered price?
I was at my dealer yesterday and though I saw the 1M on the system, they still couldn't put an order in because the fully delivered price hadn't been finalised. Cheers, Mark. |

Ideally wanted to wait until after Detroit and Autosport as well as more C-Class facelift details were released including coupe. I am also test driving a TT-RS on Saturday.
Cheers for that. Will check with my dealer if they have more info. |

For sure! I think the 1M is going to be a great car to drive.
M3 is too heavy, GTS is too expensive - I'd have a GT3 RS. I don't want another Mitsi Evo, great fun but too chavvy now I'm early 30's and a semi-responsible company director. I don't want a Merc, too much like an airport taxi! Rear drive, 3.0l twin turbo (which will ultimately do 370bhp / 400lbft), e-LSD, 1500kgs, "descent" brakes (although I'm yet to be impressed by BMW brakes - my E46 M3 was not a good advert), good wheelbase / COG, good lights / good safety / nice interior etc. It's the perfect car for me - I hope! |

As I've never had it in any of my cars, have always had top of the line Tom Toms. Also very interested in the Mobile application preparation. |

Also need to get: - Bluetooth telephone preparation with telematics (£545). - Telephone USB audio interface (£70). - USB audio interface (£210). Looks like it's only for iPhones though. The application supports Facebook and Twitter, so I assume you can also browse the Internet? |

Congrats!
I don't mean to hijack your thread, but i'm having a hard time understanding how you could order a car (I know its just a deposit down for now) without even driving it or maybe even seeing it in person. I'm a relatively recent college grad in my low 20's with a decent job and have been eying this car for a long time. Always wanted an BMW and the 1M is (I think) around my price range, just trying to figure out how all this works. If you don't want it you just lose the deposit? Does it pretty much guarantee that as soon as production starts you'll get your car? Maybe I should have posted my own thread :P |

Most dealers ask for a 100% refundable deposit. Once the order for the car is actually placed, however, you can not get that deposit back if for some reason you decide not to buy the car.

Both 1M and S3 deposits were put down before any official info was released. Got a full refund from Audi because S3 originally only came in 3rd and needed 5dr. I reckon I could get my deposit back for 1M if I wanted to now knowing it's a manual only and limited to 3 colours. I suppose it comes down to what you agree with the dealer. I also got this in writing before putting deposit down. Mark. |
