So do they think it easily beats the RS3 and the Cayman R is more its equal? I see EVO Magazine out mid-week in UK.

You can buy the iPad edition - out now.

The video review's a slightly longer version of the one in the iPad version...

BMW 1-Series M Review- EVO Magazine

http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/evoc...eo_review.html

Quote:
The new BMW 1-Series M, or 1M as it’s being christened, is finally here. For this video review we take it straight to north Wales for its initial test. With 335bhp and 369lb ft of torque going through the rear wheels it sprints from 0-62mph in just 4.9sec and is limited to a top speed of 155mph.

It’s priced at £39,990 which puts it head to head with the Audi RS3, which itself is priced at £39,900 and puts out an identical 335bhp. However, we think that the 1M is deserving of a little sterner competition, as you’ll see from our group test in issue 158 of evo…

The engine in the 1M is the twin-turbo straight-six from the Z4 35is making this the first time that a series production engine has appeared in a car from the M division. It also marks a shift in the M division towards turbocharging and away from the high-revving naturally aspirated engines such as the V8 in the current M3. This trend will continue with the launch of the new twin-turbo V8 M5 later this year.
