Roof rack/Racing bike holder problem
Installed the BMW roof rack and racing bike holder on my car last night. Install was a piece of cake until, and isn't it always, the very last step.
The bike holder slides horizontally into the roof rack racks and you then fasten it to the rack by tightening a set screw in the back and two screws in the front with the BMW supplied tool. Problem is when you insert the tool into the recesses at the front (see pic) it doesn't grab anything. If I force it down and turn it feels like it is stripping something. I have tried different size allen wrenches, flathead and phillips head screwdrivers-nothing works. The openings are so tiny you can't see inside even with a flashlight. Hoping maybe that someone has had the same experience and can help. |

Nevermind, solved it. In order to access the screws with the tool the bike frame holders on either side (the polished metal pieces) have to be opened as far as possible. They don't tell you that in the instructions.
