What DME Version Are You Using?

Hey....
To those out there using INPA or WinKFP....

What firmware version do you have on your DME?
Has your car been updated by the dealer?

The reason I ask is my car had the wastegates and radio replaced recently and when I got it back my car is now slower and less responsive!

They updated my DME!

I have all the firmware versions and want to change it back, I just need to know what to change it back too...lol

This is what ZB my DME has on it currently 7626394

Why would you say that?
If I can change the firmware version on any other DME why cant I on this one?

On my M3 I changed over to the euro dme firmware, then back to the us version, and then back.

Have you ever used WinKFP?
Do you know what its used for?

Did you also notice less burble at cold start and find it calms down sooner? Could be just another sad vicitim of Dealer DME Destruction, resulting in reduced throttle response.

Lot's of threads ending on this topic, and the only thing you can do to fix it after it has been done is to get a tune / PPK.

I assume your car is untuned thus far?

The car has a JB3 and it helps...but not as much as it did before this.

I will not accept that it cant be fixed...I will fix this and come up with a solution for all those that have been duped!

Hmmm interesting, all the cases reported that I have read about didn't have a tune, and for those that got one afterwards it was subsequently trumped or "fixed" by the tune being applied.

Well if thats the case then that kinda makes sense.

If they didnt have a tune, got updated, then added a tune they would notice a difference.

I however had a tune, then was updated, then turned the tune back on and noticed a difference in power.

From what I can tell it seems like the power comes in more gradually and a bit slower. Kind of adds more lag.

With my JB3 on map 5 the car would spin the tires in 1st, 2nd and 3rd....now its hard to do in second.

by tune, they meant TUNE. As in loaded into DME/mapping/etc... you have a strapon device which contains a tune but not in the DME. Whereas the PPK is loaded into DME directly - and that's what everyone is saying fixes things.

If DME has dumbed-down numbers, the JB3 will just apply it's thing to the dumbed-down numbers. The PPK, replaces all numbers. Technically, if you put a JB3 on a PPK, you'd go that much higher right?

Though I'm interested in your self-load solution... please stay on that and report back!

I am altering altered numbers, not creating new ones

+1 although not sure you will get better output numbers with a tune on top of ppk...

You can try I have heard of plenty of people demanding them not to, then it magically happens anyways, then this happens.

In inpa, select e89, then go under function selection, then f4 (i think), which says something like user information and it will list all of your modules with the firmware numbers next to them

No I wasn't. Please tell us. From what I researched online it seems to be the (pirated or hacked)BMW software for a pc and coding cable. With this ISAP you can read code and also code your car. And also upload or download DME files. So you are sayiny you can read the DME sw level with this pc software and cable.

You should take time to explain it to us... we are all ears. Maybe we could even learn a thing or two from what you have to say - instead of being cryptic with us.

oh wow...sorry
I thought you were kidding.

There are TONS of threads about.
Start here - http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=368

Go there and ask questions....lol
I hope nobody thinks I'm being rude.
The point of this thread was to reach out to other INPA users for help, not to educate the uneducated.

Im actually surprised there isnt a coding section over on this side of bimmerpost.

So....back on topic.

Does anyone here have INPA or should I go back over to the e90 side...lol
