Good idea! Here is the info that I have so far. Rick please jump in and correct me IF I have anything wrong. I also update the first post in this thread on page ONE. Rikx1M... I have finally managed to find a hotel ( in Nauders, Austria) that can give us 15+ double rooms. Right now I reserved for two nights, 16 Jun and 17 Jun, departing 18 Jun. Hotel is totally willing to work with us to shorten or increase the stay. If you have two people per room, per person is 35euros when sharing a double room and 50euros if you want the room by yourself. … with free parking and free internet and free breakfast. Some of you might be traveling alone and willing to share a room with another person. Website: http://www.hotel-dreilaenderblick.at/new/ How does that sound for the group? I have made the 15 reservations in my name for now so please identify next to your name how many people you need a bed for. The way I see it, we have a number of different situations so let's add the type of room so everyone gets their choice "if possible". The hotel has a reservation for 15 double rooms but we can probably make that more if more guys want a room to themselves. __________________ PS: Here is my writeup from last year when I drove the Stelvio Pass. Count me in! But what about doing the Gross Glockner or some other pass around there. The Stelvio was really bumpy, tight and crowded (since Top Gear) has gotten the word out! But where ever we decide on doing... I'm in!

Its about two hours South of Salzburg. You drive towards Gmund(where Porsche first built its 1st 48 cars) and then a little bit further. Here is my old post from last year, Nick. Gross Glockner Pass – Hoch Strasse http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=406468 What I really liked better about the Gross Glockner was that the roads leading up to the Pass were MUCH wider and smoother... and not that many people were up there driving around. Maybe I just got lucky when i went. But the Stelvio Pass was like an open secret - every type of performance car was at or going up there or coming back from Stelvio Pass. At the Gross Glockner... it was still for only the "people in the know" like the way the 'Ring use to be. I think there are also a few other Austrian Passes North of the Glockner that should be really decent too. Maybe some other guys can chime in where we should all go. All the roads near the Glockner reminded me of Little Swiss over here in BA. Lots of nice curvy roads. |

great idea!
although most passes like the grossglockner are crowded most of the time especially on sunny weekends unfortunately the cool "secret" roads in my area are to short for so many cars... but davos - stelvio sounds good nevertheless

OK...mid June it is...i'm easy and what better way to spend my 52nd birthday than with a bunch of BMW enthusiasts blasting up and down mountain passes...the ultimate tour that others in the US and Austrailia and Singapore dream about...we can do it any weekend.
So, Let's start the planning. David, you know the roads...can you handle the road/mapping portion? and shooting of course... Evolution80 - you know the language..can you handle the hotels? I'll handle the photo/audio/video part. Who else is in on this? Who wants what job? 1: Rikx135/Rikx1M P/A/V |

I have a GoPro HD Hero and a car mount. I'm also trying to get at least one of two photographer friends to attend.
