dead radio on my 2008 135i vert. Any ideas before I bring it to the dealer. I'm 3hrs from home and really don't want to make the drive in silence.

That's going to be a long drive. Have you tried to disconnect the battery and reconnect it.

This has happened to me twice. The radio would be totally dead when I started the car. No clock, no ipod, no satellite. And it would stay dead until I took it to the dealer. Both times the dealer replaced the radio under the warrantee. Not sure what the exact problem was.

Happened to me once as well, but all the radio and cd functions came back after I turned the car off and started it up again.

FWIW, I drove from New Jersey to Chicago with a dead radio. I searched all the forums and played around with all the functions because it sucked to have no radio. After 3 days in the BMW service department it was because there was an issue with the antenna... apparently it wasn't screwed in correctly. No radio stunk, so I hope my post helps someone out there.

I have a question, did you radio cut out randomly before it died? Like, turn off, then come back on a few seconds later? Mine jut did that yesterday for the 2nd time this year, and Im wondering if its starting to die.
