Are your 18" tires on non-BMW wheels? If yes then do you have hub rings that are correct size? I had similar problems with my 18" tires on Petrol 18x8 wheels. I ended up using 12mm spacers that had a taper design near the base and this made it fit more centric to the wheel hub. Big improvement.

ESC_OFF,
I think I found the problem... the lug bolt is not tight enough.... I have to re-tight it and it improved and after the trip back to office this morning, I have to re-tight it again!! I dont know why... So I just bought a torque wretch and set it to 88lb-ft and going to re-test it on my way home.

If you have plastic hub rings then you may be pinching it between the wheel and the hub. This has happened to me. I had to replace the hub ring. I hope this helps. -Tom |

what is the hub ring? sorry... I am a noob on cars...
Is the original OEM BMW wheels had hub ring on it? I think the VMR wheels are BMW fitment so they should be the same size? ESC OFF, can you confirm?

The diameter of the wheel hub is 72.6mm and the diameter of center bore of the BMW wheel on the 1M is also 72.6mm therefore no hub ring is required.
My Petrol 18x8 wheels have a center bore diameter of 74.1mm. This means that I have a space of 74.1mm - 72.6mm = 1.5mm that the wheels can be off center when the wheel is attached to the hub. The hub rings come in different sizes. For my situation I need hub rings with outside diameter of 74.1mm and an inside diameter of 72.6mm. |

since I used my torque wretch and on my way to office this morning, I still have a little vibration on the steering wheel when driving over 70mph. So I guess we rule out the hug ring and lug not tight enough... the remaining solution will be balance of the wheel/tire?

My new baby with winter tyres. I have also a X5 40d as a winter tool, and an E93 M3 (DCT, Eisenmann, Kw 3 etc.) as a summer and a track car. I don't use the M3 in the winter but this new born baby I'm going to. The M3 I'm going to sell when the snow melts.
I haven't had the change to drive the 1M when it's not snowing but I already love it! There is so much going on through the back wheels that I have to push the MDM as soon as I start the engine, otherwise the car won't move anywhere in the snow or if the road is icy. And when the MDM is on the back feels great, enough slide but not too much. The 1M feels already more of an M3 than my -09 135i manual ever did. It was always moving and felt unstable even with 18" summer tires but this 1M feels super stable. I took these 270M wheels from my M3 (track wheels) and put Continental Winter Viking 5 tires on them, no studs. And they are great. I had an E90 M3 with Conti "central european" winter tires on and they were rubbish. They don't work here in Scandinavia at all, but were ok when it was dry. In the pictures 270M look boring but in reality look much better. 20 mm spacers on back are a must! Could paint these wheels... |

@thr: Is you roof matte or gloss? Why did you not include the lists? You know where you fit a roof box. I think it look strange not to include them? I consider to go black gloss roof to match the rest of the car. AW and gloss black or gloss carbon. Matte just works if the rest is matte or it looks busy.
