1M euro switch conversion

This is not a DIY on the entire euro light switch replacement which AndyM did an excellent job at on:
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=209558

Rather, this is taking a euro switch that i bought for my US SPec 135 and seeing if it works on a US Spec 1M and then swapping the light switch between the two units...

The long and short of it...yes it works. So if you also wanted to keep the chromed knob, you have to disassemble the switch unit like in the following photos.

Great job testing this out for everyone, those LCI tails look awesome (evil?) with the "fogs" on!
Bonus tip: The rear fogs are very bright and can make for a great way to give tailgaters a "back-off" message.

That is such an awesome feature. We should have these since we get major fog in Ontario that have caused chain reaction accidents which have killed people.

What is the part # for this European Switch. I can't find it on realoem or LeatherZ.

Remember...you already have the fog switch built in, you just can't access it because the little plastic Tangshan are preventing you from depressing the switch...

I think this is the part number for the euro fog light switch: #61319169400

Remember you have to select EUROPEAN build at the start of RealOEM to find EU parts.

Thanks, I found an old DIY and the Lego mod to enable the fogs on my light control switch. I will give this modification a try on the weekend. Hmmm, now where did I put those Legos.

My 135i is a 2010 manufactured 9/09 so I don't think mine will have the white pieces inside, but I'll take a look. I'll post the results on your new post above.
