Nice videos!
Don't know about Forza4 but the night footage really looks like what I see on my screen when I race this track on IRacing (which has it as night racing). It's quite eerily similar! And LOL at passing a Radical with a 1M on the stock tires |

2nd session with traction control off, there a few times you have "get busy" with the steering. How much over or under steer were you getting?

I wish I had the iRacing setup but Forza is the next best thing. Sebring is very good on Forza but I knew it couldn't be exact. Are the bumps in T1 and T17 more pronounced in iRacing?

BTW if you're into sim-racing: I splurged for Xmas on a Fanatec Elite CSR wheel and while it costs a mint it's like night and day compared to the G27 I had before, highly recommended if you can spare the 'change'... |

Dan, I have a buddy who has set up shop in Discover Mills with 5 triple screen racing sims. He can let you try a few different sims to compare. I think he has RFactor, iRacing, and one other. I wonder if the ATL 1Mers would consider having a mini meet and trying it out?

9:52 Quick hands!
9:40 See Dan Drive the 1M... See Dan Catch the 1M! Spent some time this past weekend myself at ECR doing this.... Quote:
Like Dan said.. the car is really neutral... but when At the limit, if you encounter a change in pavement surface (concrete patch on asphalt... or say...water at the bottom of turn 5 at ECR ... ) the rear can let go quickly... but it slides more so than snaps...and therefore can be caught.... it doesn't have the Zen of an E30 M3 with regards to breakaway.... but this chassis is damn good.. Full R tires as always ups the ante... but I will say, with this much grip... even on street tires.. if one does manage to get in full on tank slapper, it whips back and forth violently!!!!!!!!!............. It makes me giggle..!!! Last edited by M3 Adjuster; 01-19-2012 at 03:46 AM.. Reason: 9:40 in the video. |

I'm in for meeting up near Atl with fellow 1Mers (or whoever) to check out racing simulators (or tear it up at Andretti Speed Lab) but to make it clear I'm not into them in a huge way. Hence the use of Forza 4. Don't get me wrong, I think they are awesome but I haven't gone down that road because I find it hard to spend money on a simulator when I could spend that money on real track time, or replacing the blown engine in my race car. I got hot and heavy on driving Sebring on Forza, watching in car videos, and looking at data because I knew my first time on track was going to be in the dark and that freaked me out a little. Getting the track in my head helped a lot but I knew there was nothing like getting on the track for real. The 1st practice session video I posted on this thread was my 1st time on Sebring during the day and in the 1M. I'm glad I did the DE with the 1M because time before the race was very limited and I wanted to see the track in daylight before I had to compete.
It's hard to compare the 1M apples to apples on track because I went to Road Atlanta with it stock (other then brake pads & fluid) and now to Sebring with Motons. I have to say the Motons made a HUGE difference in the handling on track. I would love to see a stock 1M go through the bumpy sections of Sebring vs. mine with the Motons. The car seemed much more planted and compliant at the middle and exit of the corners where before the car wanted to step out under power.

Possible thread jack but speaking of simulation driving, I'm planning to get a seat/wheel/peddle setup like this for Forza 4. The OEM controller no longer cuts it for me.

Here's a forum member's review of his setup.

Here is my buddies setup in his new business in Georgia. There are 5 of these triple screen setups total. He will probably upgrade his pedal and wheel setup as the business takes off. The name of the place is Virtually Racing in Discover Mills Shopping Center in Gwinnett.
