Uk - real time traffic information on the nav
Guys,
My 1m was purchased in July 2011 with professional nav. Currently it gets the tmc traffic feed. I know BMW now offer an enhanced traffic offering on all new bmws built after September 2011. There seems to be confusion as to whether it is available on cars before this and if so how you go about upgrading/activating it. Can anyone shed some light? Cheers |

I asked my dealer about this. They seemed to think it can be upgraded as its been offered on 3 series. They think an upgrade option will be rolled out across the range for pre Sept cars but don't know when this will be. Or how much it will cost.

If you are on a route via the sat nav and you have the information on then in the bottom right corner there is a grey box with your eta in. It also says tmc (which is traffic master I think). If you have rtt then I think the tmc is replaced with these letters. Also the Traffic flow conditions are displayed in traffic light colours highlighting the congestion.

I'm wondering if RTTI only comes on when you have an active destination plugged into the nav? Mine flicks between TMC and RTTI but I've never actually checked to see if it changes with the nav active.
