I just thought about this, I only have an official passport and I will be putting in for my personal one the day after I get back to Germany. I will be paying the extra for it to be rush delivered. I am planning my leave so that it overlaps with this event, I know I can fly to the states and back to Germany using my leave form as a passport so I wonder if I can drive across the border using my leave form??? hmmmmm

It is recommended to have a tourist passport if you go anywhere else. France requires it. Don't know about Austria or Switzerland. Italy I just go through the border.

But no, you cannot travel from country to country with just your leave and ID here in Europe.

Just as important is the international drivers license as our USAREUR/USAFE licenses aren't good outside Germany.

I have an international license already so thats good to go. I wonder how long it would take to get a passport if it is rushed.

well it might be a tight squeeze for me then. I'll check with SATO and see what countries require a passport to drive in to.

Can't you order your tourist passport now? You can renew by mail...all you need is the photo and application and a current or expired passport to prove ID..

Straight from the website:

Renew by Mail if All of the Following are True:
Your Most Recent U.S. Passport:

- Is undamaged and can be submitted with your application
- Was issued when you were age 16 or older
- Was issued within the last 15 years
- Was issued in your current name or you can legally document your name change

If any of the above statements do not apply to you, you must Apply in Person

I think it will be held on June 17th – 20th, 2012.

I am sure BMW M Power will do something special again this year for the 2nd annual //M meeting. Maybe they will show us the new M6 ???

Only for M car and ONLY if you sign up for the M Fest and M Corsa parade laps. I still will probably go again. I don't think BMW will start promoting this event until March or so.

We need to still fogure out our Stelvio Pass tour.
