Rearview Mirror removal?
So I am planning on tackling the Homelink Compass mirror upgrade tomorrow. After looking at all the DIYs there are some conflicting statements on how to remove the rearview mirror. Some DIYs on the e90 forums say turn the base of the mirror clockwise (so that the bottom of the mirror will be directed towards the drivers side (when sitting in car looking towards the hood)). Other DIYs say turn it counterclockwise. Does anyone who has done this know which direction it is? I dont feel like cracking my windshield. Thanks for the help.
Here is a picture just to clarify what I mean by counterclockwise. |

If I recall correctly from when I retrofitted the auto-dim mirror, it doesn't matter which way you turn it, as long as you turn it 90-degrees from the normal position.

Correct. It is a 60 deg turn in either direction to remove. You must remove the covers over the mount first so that you do not damage the rain sensor when removing the mirror.
