In a similar situation here and considering the maddad or the Berk for the mid pipe .... With intention to keep the exhaust stock.
Just that I had the Catless down pipe on my 1M now and worried that the maddad being too loud with the combination ! |

i had catless dp, berk mids and stock rear, and it was surprisingly tame. Not too loud when driving normal. When you go WOT, it really wakes up. |

Actually BMW nailed the stock numbers. On a Mustang dyno most stock 1ms are coming back in the low to mid 290s which when divided by .85 (~15% driveline loss) comes right to 340s at the crank.

337whp on a Dyno Dynamics is pretty good with just a catless mid-pipe! It just seems underrated because quite a few cars are actually overrated... but I won't get into that here. Now you guys have me stuck between Berk or Maddad! |

I reluctantly let my fiance drive the 1m around on Saturday because I was using her truck to tow something and didn't feel like using my truck. Anyway, she managed to 'find' about a half dozen reasons to use the car throughout the day. I was out front most of the day washing another toy so got to hear her pulling up and driving away.
I have to say I am really impressed with the Berks. The sound when she pulled away was intoxicating. You don't realize when your driving the car yourself everyday just how good it sounds. I've had several neighbors tell me how great the car sounds too. It's not loud under normal throttle but definitely audible, deep and grumbly. At wide open throttle it does get louder and higher pitched at the top. I've not heard the Maddads and I know people like those too but I couldn't be happier with the Berks. |

What's the consensus Berk or Maddad? Performance seems to be very similar. From the vids I've heard, Maddad has an edge on sound. What's the price difference...$50?

Looks the same both for Maddad and Berk.
Berk has two longer/skinny resonators side by side, Maddad has offset short/fat ones. Pictures for comparison: BERK MadDad (On the right) ///Stock on the left Last edited by Fundahl; 04-02-2012 at 01:15 PM.. Reason: added pictures |

For my own personal edification and decision-making why not the N55 mid?

Please tell me they did not fault you for the filter and magnetic drain plug . . . . /endhijack.

I can't imagine how a properly fitted aftermarket filter or a magnetic drain plug could be used to void any portion of the warranty. Your dealer has issues.
