Trade your 1M for different color
So have any of you guys thought about trading colors(no wrap) if another forum member wanted to trade, would you? I have an alpine white and sometimes wish I would have ordered Black. Any thoughts?

Haha. I change my mind every day!
I know if I had it wrapped/resprayed, I'd be wanting another colour the next week. If I were to have mine done, I would go for Sakhir Orange like the M6. |

I really have no desire for VO (sorry guys who have it, just too much for me). If I had ordered one new I probably would have ordered AW. I love my BSM though, I would have a hard time giving it up.

Love my AW and carbon details. The only reason I would change would be for the extra attention of the VO. So if you want attention VO is the one to have.

I see some of the mod'd white cars online and really think they look great, classic M car euro look and I love it. Honestly however when my VO is freshly clean and the metallic is popping off the finish I just can't help but adore the color because it really is a beautiful color and just the right hue... yes its "orange" but the best way I can describe it would be to call it the proper orange and the perfect shade.
Any VO owner owner will tell you the car looks like 2 different animals when you drive it on a sunny day and when you drive it on a cloudy day, I like that... I still wonder about white every time I pass a cop though, VO is a bit more noticeable |

Its only bad when I have been parked in the sunfor a while which is maybe a few times a week. Plus I have nice tint on it so that will block most of the sun. Like I said if I could have ordered one I would have likely gone with white and been very happy with it.

VO and no regrets so far. Didn't get tired (yet) of this warm, mesmerizingly sparkling color everytime I see it. No difficulty in finding back your car in a big parking lot: it stands out between all the others. Downside: I guess VO is more prone to vandals (getting keyed) (luckily, so far no issues with mine). VO is the benchmark color of the 1M: regardless the current or future availability of VO on other BMW models, it will always be associated with the 1M. VO might be discontinued someday, unlike AW and BSM that will stay around. Re styling, it shows off well the design lines and angles. Re washing, it's the lazy option: unlike AW and BSM, VO hides well dirt and dust. Anyways, enjoy the 1M color of your choice.

VO is the shiznit
Was at a car show this weekend at BMW Welt with 160+ 1series and 3series BMWs, tons of whites and blacks, I was the only VO out of all those cars until late in the day an E46 showed up with custom VO paint. This color rocks as it always looks clean, has different personalities in different light, and like Artemis said "VO is the benchmark color of the 1M: regardless the current or future availability of VO on other BMW models, it will always be associated with the 1M."
When you see a magazine cover of a 1M, rarely is it B&W. Historically, this color will define the 2011 1M. I love the look of the AW, but this color overall is magical.

I have AW and love it. My dad had a white 1969 model 2002 BMW when I was a kid so it holds special memories.
I love the 1M in VO. However I hate that it's the UT Longhorns color and in addition to people getting the wrong impression about my college loyalty, I can't stand looking at UT colors and thinking about the Loser Longhorns everytime I see the orange color. |
