non-sport seats

Can anyone comment on the differences between the sport and non-sport seats?

ive only sat in the in sport seats and since the BMW i was looking at was sold out from under me I am back on the lookout.

Found 2 in Indy
1 is 2008 135 no sport pack. 20k in mi no M steering wheel and thus non-sports seats asking 25600

2 is 2009 at a carmax (so no haggling he 25998 price) 135 sport pack and seats 44k in mileage and had a front fender fender bender. report says minimum damage. need to get a better history on this accident

but one of the things i liked best were the seats.....should i give the no sport pack car a look? will i still like the seats?

i think the difference is in the seat back. Side bolsters are inflatable and larger.

My 128i has the leatherette version.

also if it doesnt have power seats does it still have the lumbar adjustments?

Yes, I do not have power, but have the electronic side bolster adjustment.
There is no Lumbar adjustment in my 128i

They have the same seats(128i vs 135i).

Manual=Manual everything except side bolsters
Power=Power everything plus driver position memory

The non sport seats lack the front thigh adjustment as well as the seat angle adjustment. They are also flatter. Power seats give you the lumbar adjustment.

If you like spirited driving and long drives you can't pass on the sport seats, unless you plan to buy aftermarket seats.

Definitely a must have option on our car. There is more than just the bolster adjustment. There is like 3-4 way to adjust the sport seat compared to 1-2 way for the normal seat.

the biggest difference is that the non-sport seat is flatter were the sport seat fits around you more so you don't move as much in the seat. i have had three cars with sport seats and after two or more hours driving my thighs would hurt because of the sport seat. this last car i bought does not have the sport seats and i love it

Also the biggest difference between sport and non seats is tied to your frame size. I'm not overweight, but have wide shoulders and torso (48 jacket) and the bolsters KILL my kidney areas because I don't fit into the space in between. Wife's car has sport seats, mine doesn't and I dread driving her car for more than 15 minutes. So if you're a larger person in torso - it may be worth trying these out. If you can feel the side bolsters, rethink sport seats. Just this morning in fact, I sat down, sighed a happy - comfy sigh - and was glad I had the "cheap seats."

I have the same problem. I could only ever test drive non-sport seats and when I first got in my car the side bolsters were inflated 100% and I immediately thought "oh shit, this isn't gonna work", but deflated to about 20% works ok.

I also have regular power seats (non sport) in my 135i and they seem to be fine. I survived a 2300+ mile trip with no aches or pains.

I'd still trade them and cash for sport seats though.

well i guess im just going to have to drive out to indy to try both cars....at least i can get carmax to give me a buy amount on my car...
im a 44 reg in suit size....for comparison? i fit in my 370z seats that are very aggressively bolstered but they are just thin...not much padding and no lumbar support.
its halfway sad im worried about this at the age of 28 but i have to stop trading cars and I want to keep this BMW for a long time....
and there is a fiat dealer near there that has fiat abarths...saw one in STL but no dealers have them but i want to drive one to see what its like. looks like a ton of fun...

44reg you should be fine. If you can fit the sport, get the sport - much better holding for spirited driving. But if no fit, don't even think about it. I had a benz C63 with way more aggressive seats, no choice in that car. Paid about $1000 to have the modified to fit me. Soooo worth it on that car.

Try both in case you have not done so yet. I am 6' and 215 and wear a 44 reg. Im not fat by no means but I found the sport seats to be uncomfortable which I had in my 328. I prefer the more open non-sport seats. GL.
