New 135is
Well honestly I love this car. I know many don't get it. It depends on why you'd want the car. I was considering purchasing the 135i with the M sport package, Premium 2 package, comfort access, performance exhaust, and the performance upgrade. I got that and more for the same price. I got the first one in the Houston Area and in Carbon Black with a manual transmission. I know that it's no 1M but it's more than the 135i out of the box. I am surprised about the kidney grills. I read they were supposed to be black... Mine are chrome... Calling tomorrow to ask about that...

I can't tell from the pictures, but my guess is the "black" grilles you were hoping for are the "newer" version from BMW, where the slats are black but the outer kidney is still chrome. My 08 build was all chrome. Just swap them out for some matte or gloss black aftermarket grilles, they can be had for a fairly minimal price. Sweet car, I've yet to see a 135is.

Congrats on the new car! First thread I've seen where someone picked theirs up. We'll need a ride review when you get around to it. I also believed the is model came from the factory with the 'perf' grilles. Look into that anything else the might have missed. How do you like the PE?

Ray,
More exterior pics please--profile, wheels, wheel gap, etc... My 135is SOP is in a few weeks. I'm a bit disappointed the grille isn't all black Weren't the taillights suppose to be a darker tint as well? What brand tire? How does it sound?

Interesting how the tray/power outlet (above the shifter) is covered with a door. It's that way on my 2008, but if I recall, they stopped putting the door in later years and just left it as an open hole/tray, which looks unbelievably cheap IMO. I wonder if this is only for 135is models or if they reverted back for the last year of production.
Also, I had Carbon Black on my M3. It is an awesome color that transforms depending on what kind of lighting is hitting the paint. I would get it again in a heartbeat. |

Very cool!!! I'd swap out the kidney grills to all black though. The tint job on the tail lights looks like the custom job I did on mine! Wish you would have got a color other than black so I could see the contrasting black mirror covers! As for the pedals.......Ehhh. Beautiful car though, Congrats!

I have to admit to loving these pedals. They are very understated and don't look boy-racer'ish like so many aluminum pedal covers. Plus they match the M dead pedal nicely.
Best of all, they are full replacement covers for the clutch/brake and the gas pedal is a brand new assembly, so there is no drilling holes in the pedals and screwing covers onto them. I'm still not sure I see the allure of black mirrors but I guess it's consistent with the 335is: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=428544 |
