Which coilovers gives the most drop?
Hi guys,
Ive been looking at coilovers for the 135 but seems like the max drop on the KW is only 2inches. Are there any other brand coilovers that can drop the 135 more than 2 inches? Found some other brands like H&R, Bilstein and Eibac. most of them also only drops the car 2 inches. Im looking for coilovers with 3-4 inches drop. Thanks for your help. |

i'm not a huge slammed guy (live in Northeast Ohio, can't afford to be) but the only way your going that low is on bags. Someone else will have to varify but no coils i've seen/heard of go that low and still provide longevity of the suspension; that's compressing the strut quite a ways

Bc racing's can go ridiculous low... Absolutely undriveably low!
Just Tucking tyre, and there's probably 2 inches to go. Easily tuck 18's, i'll fully lower them sometime and take a few pics |

Just to be clear, you do know that 4 inches equals 10 cm, right? If you dropped a 135i by 4 inches, it would be absolutely undriveable in Sydney, where there's no such thing as a flat road...

....which is precisely why I said for him to go air suspension.
seriously, if you're dropping that low, you're doing it for looks. do it right and run air/hydro so you can lift it for shitty streets and dump it for hard parking and shows. 4"+ drop is absolutely idiotic on coilovers. you're just making life hard on yourself. If you don't want to spend the money to do it right, sell the 1, buy something more air-friendly that leaves more room in your budget, and do it right. |

Google answer 1: http://www.thehoffmangroup.com/c/air.../2008_Bmw_135i
Google answer 2: http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E82-135...pose/Air_Ride/ didn't search any more, but you get the idea. both these look like about what you'll get on any market for our cars. BMW is the ultimate performance machine, not many buy for sitting on the ground. hoffman group looks complete where ECS you'd have to piece it together yourself. |

Hahaha. Have you owned a car that low? Stock ground clearance on my car was 5.5". With 3" drop, you would scrape on absolutely everything. Every speed bump up and down, every driveway in and out, every rise or dip in the road. Please report back on how it goes.

Anything adjustable you will be to go as low as you want, like Standard Suspension R3, Got those on my E36 and I love it, can't wait for the ones on the 128i to need replacement.
