I'm still in: +1 for sure, probably +2.
If that's the hotel we're meeting at I'll book a room when I get back to Germany on Saturday. Liking forward to this tour!

Any other thoughts on where to stay in Regensburg? IF anyone wants to meet in Nurnberg Christkind Market, Saturday evening - we could arrange for that too.

I'm going to the Nurnberg market for sure. If anyone wants to meet there I'm all for it, or we can meet at the hotel. Just let me know what hotel as I have no experience in that part of Germany.

For Sunday I was thinking we could see the Regensburg Christmas Market together, and then grab a nice dinner or drinks somewhere downtown. IF anyone wants to meet in Nurnberg, I could join you for the Nurnberg Christmas Market - one of the largest and most famous in Germany. I did notice there is an Andechs in Nurnberg.

I think we could meet in NURNBURG Saturday night, but not to late. My little wild man is not much fun past 8 or 9 pm.

They have a nice Alt Post (German mail) horse carriage that you can pay to go on. They also have a special kids only Christmas Market behind the Church where the main Christmas market is held.

I'll be +1 only. Matt can't make it after all.
My plan was to drive to Nuremberg early Sunday, check out the market and then on to the hotel. If I'm not mistaken, that Saturday is the premier weekend for The Hobbit and I promised some friends I'd see it with them.

Anyone have any tips on parking near the Nuremburg Christmas Market? I plan on getting there around noon Sunday so I'm sure it will be packed, and I've never been to Nuremburg before.

Here is the gps coordinates = 49.454763,11.075358 or... Google Maps here... https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&q...&ved=0CKgBELYD This Hauptmarkt parkhaus is the best place to park for going to the Christkindle Markt. IF you follow the signs for the Tourist Office... you will find this parkhaus. But you can really park at ANY parkhaus inside the old city walls and walk your way to the Christmas Market. Its not that big of a city. This website also might be of help... http://www.christkindlesmarkt.de/en/ Opening Hours Christkindlesmarkt: November 30th to December 24th 2012 Opening Day 30 Nov:9:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Opening Ceremony:5:30 p.m. Monday - Thursday:9:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday & Saturday:9:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Sunday:10:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Christmas Eve:9:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

I can come along if there is still room for me. And I can head down towards Heidelberg to pick anyone up if necessary.
PM me what I need to do. And if anyone is down to split a room that would be fantastic. |
