My 135is convertible, in carbon black, made it on to the ship that is transiting now, so the car should be delivered stateside within a week. Considering I dropped the order in January and that I'm likely to have the car NLT early March, feels like I lucked out on the timing. ~Two more weeks to go! |

Feb 20 update - my car made it onto the "Mignon" and is in transit, scheduled arrival in Brunswick March 11. Hoping to have it within a couple of weeks after that. Already know a cool spot where I'm going to take some photos!

Stupid question perhaps, but how do you KNOW your 135is has the Performance Power Kit? Is there something in the engine bay saying such or somewhere? Only asking because not sure if they put the performance exhaust and power kits on in the factory at this point or at the port. Easy to tell that they actually installed the exhaust, but what about the PPK?
Perhaps I'm paranoid...perhaps it's the lawyer in me. Sorry on several levels for that. |

Well you can look for the extra cooling parts, which are easy enough to spot. Other than that, not sure. And I think these parts are installed at the port, which is why euro delivery is not an option. The 135is is not a different car, at all - it's an option package that couples desirable items in one place for a good price if you'd be shopping them anyway.

Ah, yes, forgot about the extra auxiliary radiator. Just want to make sure they actually install the PPK since it just seems like a software upgrade so was curious if there were any way to confirm it with a sticker or plate somewhere.
But ya, when I crunched the numbers between the 135i and the 135is, between the rim upgrade ($1800-2000), the PPK ($1447 a la carte), the performance exhaust (I think $1250 a la carte), it was a no brainer since I was considering buying the 313 rims and the entire "is" package was only like $2450 more. Thanks for your help! |

Ceeslee - it's sad how many times I've watched your exhaust video or just had it playing in the background as I've worked the last few weeks and I'm the one that commented last week on youtube asking if it was mineral grey. Looks amazing! Can't wait to get mine! So rare to see pics of it in that color. Also helpful since at the last minute I added the rear parking sensors and didn't know how much that would affect the look in that color as it seems to be less noticeable the darker the color is. Ooh, I'm getting giddy just looking at yours!
You going to put a tint at all on it by the way? I imagine it'd look even more bad ass and is only real modification I would do to these. |

Ceeslee: great pix and exhaust video! Love the color. My DSB 135is is on the ship now, hoping to have it by March 20th or so.

Thanks for sharing! Looks great / sounds great! Mine is still in transit; should hit port soon, but have not been able to confirm what ship it is on. I'm hoping for less than two weeks now.

It's mineral grey, think it was just an accidental typo or something. It's a hair darker than sparkling graphite was, but more on the black/charcoal hue as opposed to the purple side that sparkling graphite was, which was grey with red and blue mixed in.

Still haven't reached the break-in period. I've been good and not opened the taps all the way yet. My right foot is getting itchy! Looking forward to hearing/feeling it at full throttle. I occasionally watch the video myself when at work to break up the day. Some tint would be nice, not sure if I'll end up having it done or not. I've seen too many bad tint jobs, not sure if I trust anyone to do it right. Otherwise leaving it stock. I've had other cars in the past (Honda's, Subie, Mini) which I went overboard and blew a huge amount of money on mods so much I could have probably bought a fast BMW had I just saved and waited. It was fun but my modding days are over. Last edited by ceeslee; 02-28-2013 at 08:37 AM.. |

As for the tint, I don't really trust anybody either, so on my current car, I drove an hour out of my way for a place that came highly recommended that I did trust since they had special computers with all the windows for cars pre-programmed in that cut the film perfectly to spec. I'll probably put a light tint, nothing too dark, somewhere between 35% (darkest I'd go) and maybe 50% (lightest I'd go). That's why it'd be good to use your car as a guinea pig for me on how dark to go if you do it. hehe. I just know from past experience with my old 135, that it was a night and day difference in look with the tint, so is the first and probably only mod I will do. Do you think the tailpipes stick out too far though? Some have thought so and with the carbon fiber rear diffusers it supposedly seems better suited for the performance exhaust. Hard to know though til you've lived with the car for a bit, so curious what you think. Jealous... |
