Looking for FMIC and down pipe suggestions

considering upgrading the intercooler, charge pipe and down pipe. Sounds like AA and EMS are popular. My only request is has to be bolt on no mods. And little chance of throwing codes. I'm not a mechanic and have no itnerest in being one. I will take them to my trusted shop and they will do the work.

Have a2012 E88, with a Berk Street exhaust and Dinan S2 flash.

Thanks

I just ordered the BMS down pipe. They don't get in until Thursday but one of my friends has them and bang for the buck they seem to be awesome. I don't have an upgraded intercooler or charge pipes but he is using an ETS. they is a thread for intercoolers.

I have the VRSF FMIC and ceramic-coated DPs. Great price and product from a great company!

This is the 7". I purchased both and installed (Tiago installed my DPs) early last fall so I could go GIAC Stage 2.

Thanks. I'm considering getting them to send me a 5" over here so I can just drop the old one on the drive without too much hassle.

Everbody replaces dp for the boost in hp and tq but does replacing your midpipes do anything noticable besides changing the sound with the catless midpipes?

Great, I'll have to have a word with them and see what they can do for me .

FMIC and Stage 1+ Cobb tune will net you more power than DP's and Stage 2 tune as it's a bigger restriction however, couple both together for Stage 2+ tune and you have something insanely good.

Personally I feel the drawback of the small stock FMIC more than the DP's; the power is good until it heat soaks. DP's are definitely worth while for many reasons such as more HP/Tq, faster spool, less strain on the turbo, less heat etc but the stock DP's aren't the worst on the market.

As for mid-cats, I've definitely felt an improvement in power (as well as noise) since removing them and using a Stage 1 aggressive tune. I think that once I get a FMIC and change to Stage 1+ I'll be happy to stop the power mods for a little while and buy some suspension parts before DP's.

yeah I know the FMIC and stage 1+ is a better upgrade but it also cost twice as much so I started with dp and stage 2. I will upgrade my FMIC next (before it starts to warm up). I was just wondering if upgrading my MP when I already did my DP will help.

if you add a catless downpipe you WILL absolutely throw codes.

for FMIC, for your mods, the best bet is ETS. its a very easy install with excellent fitment and will serve your needs very well.

i would NOT change the charge pipe unless yours cracked or you want to use BOV or meth.

i have an upgraded charge pipe, and its fine, but the install is a PITA and the DV fitments and fitment into the lower charge pipe use silicon elbows which IMO are an inferior fitment solution to the stock connections which are extremely robust. just gives you more room for boost leaks. plus, if you dont have an intake, removing the stock airbox every time to take a look is annoying.

it will help some, but not make a tremendous difference. i would spend more on a quality FMIC and not worry about the midpipe as much.

I recommend AR catted DPs and either Forge or Wagner FMIC if you have the funds. GL !

OK done some research and based on what I'm seeing here an AR catted DP and a 5" ETS FMIC staing with the stock CP. Again lots of great information guys. Thanks.
