best bang for your buck track wheels are unarguably Apex Arc 8.

18 inch apex wheels. Light, cheap, tons of fitment options, two different designs (albeit quite similar) and 4 different colors to choose from. I went with the arc-8 design because I got in on the group buy, I believe there is a group buy on the EC-7 design. Great deal regardless IMO, hard to turn down deal if you get in on the group buy.
Apexraceparts.com I just put a set on. 18x9.5et22 front with 265/35, and 18x10.5et27 rear with a 285/35, Hankook RS3 is the tire I chose. A lot of 1M guys use this setup. I have not had a chance to get on the track with them yet (literally had them on since saturday), but the -7lbs per corner has been noticeable on the street. Others have gone square (same size all around) if you prefer the ability to rotate. You can use the 18x9.5et22 w/ 265/35 both front and rear. If you have camber plates they also have a 18x10et25 which will accommodate a 275/35 tire. Good luck! |

Unless you are going to fit big brakes in, definitely 18s the way to go.

Its also my understanding that 18x10 ET25 Apex EC-7s fit the 380mm Brembo kit. The Brembos don't fit with the ARC-8s.

Honestly I drive like a granny on the street, so my impressions probably aren't worth much. Doing an auto cross Sunday and a DE in a few weeks so I will report back after that.

For what it's worth, in the group buy I paid $1100 for the wheels and another $1100 for the hankooks. Hard to beat that. |

Best wheels?
The lightest and strongest you can afford! There are lots of wheels superior to Apex (Forgelines, etc.). However, for the money, Apex wheels are hard to beat. FWIW, I have two sets -- both 18". Neil |
