Hey guys
So the results are in but not final. I took into Advan and got my 40k service done (no hassles). Procede was installed and thankfully Peter and Justin were on the case for the right tuning. At map 1 achieving about 210kw ATW Map 2 is the figure below. I was advised that spark plugs and coils are going to need replacing to run map 2 as it was misfiring. Otherwise they think we could get to the magic 250kw ATW, which I think is amazing with just a tune. As a review of the procede the overall performance you can certainly feel even on map 1. In terms of usability I don’t think it can get much easier with only four maps and the cruise control lever as the switch. But, since then, on map 1 I’ve had several misfires, which appear to occur soon after the car has been running for about 10-15 minute, mainly in 2nd gear or when I’ve decided to give it good hard hit. So I want to pre-empt any further issues and would like your advice on you think should also be replaced along with the coils ands plugs before I begin with any add-ons??? |

I would hope new coils and plugs would cure the misfire. The next component in that chain is the HT Leads.
I had misfires in my old MX-5 a few months back and it turned out the rocker cover gasket needed replacing. Oil was seeping into cylinder #4 which sees the most heat being up against the firewall. The oil was then fouling the spark plug and causing the misfires. Mind you, that engine has done 195,000 kms. |
