PITA. I was on the GM website at the end of last year looking for a kiddie-hauler and was able to search inventory at all dealerships within a specified radius according to vehicle type and trim level -- even color. Would sure be nice if BMW could use some of their technical expertise to make their website more functional. Of course I'm not sure when I'll be looking to buy a turbo-electro-wundercar that's more video game than sports car...

I'd imagine maybe only 10% or 15% max would be IS cars based on the ratios I've seen at dealers. Even that might be high.
Seems like it's even 2/3 of their cars are 128's, 1/3 are 135's, and at least out here, more convertibles than coupes, too. |

I am working on the convertible count delivered to Port Hueneme since last July to get a better number of cars out west.

With all of the brainpower working to come up with the total number of 135is production, the coupe-to-convertible ratio, etc. I think I'll just standby and wait for the answer. I'm very interested to find out. I'm estimating around 350 or less in total. Last edited by Kouper; 06-10-2013 at 11:08 PM.. |

I was told there would be no math.
Really the only one I care the most about is MINE! =) Although I do have some regard for Kouper's as a fellow shipmate, fraternal twin born the same day, and for nostalgic reasons. And of course I'll feel somewhat of a kin towards bp's since his is mineral grey. |

Speaking of Mineral Grey.. In my look at the 135i s, Convertibles and Coupes, that landed in port Huemene this past year I found one other Mineral Grey with the Black with Blue stitch seats built on 2012-09-13, and it was a Convertible! So I guess those folks must have something going on
By the way there were 117 convertibles delivered to port Huemene July 2012 to June 2013 of which 31 are 135is. Combined with the 182 coupes delivered in that same period with 76 being 135is that = 299 135i out of which 107 are 135is or about 36% are 135is delivered to port huemene. The New York is the big one of about 340 cars. I hope to get to it after I take a rest.. It seemed like fun Last edited by bp-plickner; 06-11-2013 at 07:48 AM.. |

I think Kouper drove and considered that Mineral Grey 135is convertible up in northern CA at Stevens Creek BMW if I remember correctly. When I went in February to look, there were only 2 mineral grey 135is's in the country, one in Southern California, which I looked at and test drove, and one in Bloomington, IL.
I'm going to try to get your car expedited bp, cause I'm starting to worry about you and fear the only thing that will cure what ails ya is to have yours safe at home. Then you won't care about any other is's. |

I have five dealers in reasonable proximity (<50 miles):
Not sure what this means or how it has changed over time. If nothing else it confirmed that the car I looked for a month ago still doesn't exist on a dealer's lot so ordering was definitely the way to go. |

Ouch. When I was shopping, I was dead set on a 6MT hard top, and they were surprisingly difficult to find. Guess there's no surprise that's still the case. if that's what you're looking for it might be time for a lightly used car with your specs, and then a PPK or Cobb or something added later. Not that you needed it mentioned and haven't already considered it...

Another note on the Port Hueneme Cars. Of the total 107 135is 63 are DCT
All of this info has not been independently verified and is based on Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics Track and Trace records and the BMW VIN decoder at http://www.rubmw.ru/vincode/eng/. Greg, thanks for your thoughts |

I'm taking away your spreadsheets for your own good. You'll never get it figured out and I'm nice enough to not point out why. =P
What I will do is tell you I'm now up to 3.5 weeks without washing my car (doing it tomorrow, I swear!) and the mineral grey still looks great and clean from a few feet away! Hopefully getting my coding and sirius turned on soon, too and may even custom order some floormats or get the blue edging ones to pretend that I have exclusive stitching. |

Does anyone have a good link to a forum post on the coding features that are available to us for the 1ers? I'm sure it is the same across the board for all cars. The car I ordered has all options so I have some of the features one may look to get turned on but I know I would want the video in motion feature and not sure what really else is offered that would be worth to get enabled...
I know both dealers in my area(BMW of Ft. Myers and Germain BMW in Naples) each had 1 IS allocated to them and then I believe an additional customer had one ordered at Germain. All 1 series cars are pretty scarce here, between both dealers I believe there were 8, 2 coupes and 6 'verts, from there 6 of the 8 were 128's. I almost bought the mineral gray 135 vert at BMW of Ft. Myers, but figured I'd get exactly what I wanted and went with the 135is.... BTW they are all DCT except there was a 128 vert that was CPO and that was 6MT |

Thanks for the research and number crunching! So 36% of all 135's (both vert and coupe) delivered to Huemene are "is" models. Any chance you can get the total count for 128's sent to that port over the same time frame, and then calculate what % of all 1ers are "is". We could then use that percentage against the NA delivery numbers provided at the bmwconfig site (his data provides total 1-series deliveries to NA) and come up with an estimate for "is" deliveries. This number would not be perfect, but it would be as good as any I have read thus far! Thanks again for doing the work with this shipping data!

Impressive work. Looks like total # will be under 500.

Didn't realize I was 1 of only 31 convertibles delivered to the West Coast all year. Of course, the lack of numbers just shows that -- to most people -- these just aren't desireable BMWs, being "entry level" and all |

After gulping down a quad cappuccino from Le Buzz this morning I rushed home to finish up my crazy time sorting through a 1/2 ton of VINs. For what it's worth here is a table of my compilation. I hope you can make sense out of it
Thanks to eywflyer's thread at http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...&postcount=273 for giving me a clue Thanks to gregthegr8 for reminding me about the convertibles (not) and thanks to all the posts in this thread for giving me something to do while I wait for my car |

Interesting that 31 135is cars delivered to Halifax in that the 135is is not available in Canada. I guess these 31 cars were routed south into the US?

Well, it is possible we need to deduct those numbers bp because Canada gets a version that is very similar to the IS, called the M Sport Edition, that has the 313s and all the cosmetic changes, but does not come with the PPK2 or performance exhaust.
There were a couple of forum members up in Canada who just got theirs in the last couple of months as it's a new model. See below: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=809521 Sorry BP! At least yours should be docking right about now, right? |

They show the same P7MFA-Sports Edition code as the 135is. I was calling them 135is but they probably are the 135i M. I was looking for comments on including them, so thanks for them. But if they do not have the PPK or performance exhaust I guess they are 135i M editions. I will leave them in the first chart for now and here is a revised chart. My BMW sales guy just emailed me that the car may in next week! I love an optimist.
Tuco44, Interestingly enough the Canada 135i M-Sport thread speaks of an after March 1, 2013 production time and the P7MFA-Sports Edition cars start showing up in Halifax in April on the Asian King, Mignon, Faust(my fav) and Boheme.
