Love the retrimmed seats. Full rollbar in the back if you no longer have access to the rear. A foldable seat would have been ideal but probably don't use the rear seats anyway. Nice job.

Running the lap belt over the side bolster isn't ideal. If you brake hard coming down a straight, you'll feel the shoulder strap lock up but there's going to be slack between you and the lap belt. You should try running some seat belt extenders and snaking them through the side hole. This what I did on my other car before I switched to a 6 point.

Could always use the "snap" technique which locks the belt and will always be tight against the body

The issue is the lap belt though, if the receptacle is placed over the side bolster, the lap belt will be tight around the seat, not around the driver. This could lead to submarining.

I looked at your picture and thought you were describing the issue in that configuration.

Easy enough.

Grab the shoulder harness with one hand and snap it forward to it "catches" and won't pull out further. Keep pressure on it and, at the same time, use your free hand to move your seat forward so shoulder belt keeps tension by tightening around your upper body.

You're now locked in!

I use a CG lock and the snap technique.
Lock the belt really tight across my hips with the CG lock.
Recline the seat back (electric seats).
Quickly pull the shoulder belt so it locks.
Move the seat back upright so the belt is really tight across my torso.
Nice and locked in.
