We need a general FAQ document like this
We really need a guru to come up with a document like this for the 135i, since it's the next Supra and all . Very impressive. http://mkiv.com/93-98-twin-turbo-faqs-2/

A lot of those questions would be very arguable. Not everyone will agree on the answers provided. We keep going back and forth on things like plugs, intercoolers, downpipes, etc. Objective information is sometimes scarce, so such an FAQ may be riddled with the personal opinion of the writer.
Glancing over that link, it seems some of that could be opinion as well. The stuff about water vs. glycol is all technically correct, at least. Also the Supra is a much, much more mature platform. The N54/N55 is much newer and there is still very little good data, documentation, or well-vetted expert opinion available. Just having a sticky in the forum with links to good threads would be a good move. We have new threads about every week on "which intercooler???" and every week people who have good information decide to repost less and less so the information devolves, and it muddies the search results. Very rarely is there an actual post with a somewhat scientific test and data.

Well you wouldn't put people's opinion in on it. General info is all the same and mostly factual.
What are basic engine mods for the N54/55 motor: Cold air intake Downpipe Charge pipe etc. Who makes downpipes? Burger Tuning Dinan Cobb Tuning etc. What's the best for/at X? Not in the FAQ/Vendor & Parts list. |

I would like to take on the job but I don't think I'm quite knowledgeable enough yet. Freon has a good point. If someone did this they'd have to be very careful not to include opinionated info. If they could though like 135iRick says, I think it would be worthwhile. It could be expanded as new facts are gathered.

I think 135irick has a good start to it. I have my mods and logs supporting what some of the mods do along with dyno's after mods. So I could input the fact of what the particular mod did to my car with factual logs to support my findings.
