Best Performance?

On a 2012, 135i, DCT w/PPK1 what is the best selection for the best performance? I mean get up and go speed not fuel economy.

Shifter in Sport w/sport button on?
Shifter in Drive w/sport button on?
Shifter in Manual w/sport button on?

I agree... number 3. I will go the first option now and then because I need to have my hands free for coffee or something... but by and large I drive the 3rd option.

Are there any conflicts when using Shifter Sport and Sport Button together?

Sport button with give a far better throttle response... So have it on.
Shifter in S mode and whether use use paddles it's up to you.. This I find is best performance...
Next is do you leave Trac on or push it to take it off?? If you push the Trac button use loose the aggressive throttle response even though sport light is on and it goes back the more linear throttle...
Weired I know.. I enquired this with BMW as to why?? No real reason other than that's the way it is, think it has to do with safety ... You go figure

Thanks guys, I think I have it. Best setting Manual with Sport button on.
Next best is Shift Lever in Sport w/sport button on. (No conflict?)
For now I will leave the Trac on for my safety as I am not the confident of my ability to control slipping and sliding.

Haha I know it has to happen eventually, so figured i'd say it. I usually drive with the sport button pressed, if i'm feeling spirited and want to hear pretty noises.

I could not agree with you more. Having been raised in the 50's I enjoyed a great four-on-the-floor car. But after spending much time in the DC area I have switched to Auto. I live in the country now and most of my driving in on the freeway doing 70 to 80 cruising. Just need a little extra to get around the slow folks. I can count on one hand the number of times, during a month, that I am in a city/town environment. When I am though I go manual every time.

I normally shift when I hear, what I consider, the right sound from the engine. Old habits are hard to break. But recently I have been reading that somewhere around 5K is a good point to shift.

There is not one best point to shift, it depends on the tune and map that you have. you will have to analyse your dyno graph to figure out when teh best time to shift with your mods
