If you tell yourself that enough then one day you will believe it. We manual drivers know better! oh and this quicker off the line arguement doesnt cut it. IT'S ABOUT THE FEEL OF THE CAR!

If you care about feel you bought the wrong car. Can't wait to get myself back into a proper sports car and retire this thing to DD duty.

Having three choices for shifting rather than one (manual) is nice. But I can see both sides of the perpetual argument. It's perpetual because there is no "correct" answer. Personal preference. Even for me it's hard, because I like both.

Almost everybody who has ever driven a manual knows it's more fun and would prefer it to an automatic. Those people who have driven a manual in the past and now drive an automatic either have a physical reason (like me) why they don't drive a manual anymore or they drive in too much traffic and a manual is a pita. A DCT is still faster than a manual though.

I love my DCT as well. It is fun using paddle shifters and the sound is great. However, I got to drive my buddies 2014 Honda Si coupe yesterday. That was the most fun car I've driven in a long time...and I drove a F430 just last month. There isn't to many things better than banging some gears around the good ol' fashion way. Driving a manual is so similar jerking off...it just feels awesome! With that said, I still would not trade my 135i DCT for a 135i 6MT.

About the only downside of having a manual vehicle is if you live in an area where traffic is a nightmare. Stop and go traffic sucks, its even worse for us who ride motorcycles.
I test drove a DCT equipped 135i and it was great but wanted to get a manual from the get go. I should have went with the DCT just to have the experience of owning a great piece of engineering but I still love driving my 6 spd. |

Still waiting for the CVT option... maybe some of us DCT pansies can get together and do a retrofit DIY!
