Trunk VIN Sticker
I recently had my trunk blended and clear-coated to match some new panels damaged by an accident. When I removed the rear license plate to install a new holder I noticed what looked like thick masking tape over my VIN sticker that looks like it has been clear-coated over. If I remember correctly, it's supposed to be a metal VIN sticker, fully visible with nothing over it.
Can someone verify that the VIN sticker under the rear plate is supposed to be a bare sticker? A picture would be very helpful so I can prove that the body shop needs to fix this. If I just peel it off, I'm worried about taking some of the attached clear coat with it.
