I think, I remember seeing some pics of the early 1M prototypes running around with M3 seats. We need to call upon or local 1M WiKi aka @Artemis for a picture!

M3 seats in a 1M...
@andrey_gta @swagon @BMW40146 @pd135
@Artemis you made me go digging in my 1M photo archives! I found the picture(s) I remembered showing the M3 seats in a 1M prototype. This was also the first photos of the 1M instrument panel gauges. You can clearly see the M3 seats.

@dackelone and @artemis , that is dedication! Some seriously good info posted in here.
Reason for the question, is that I've found an m3 at a local wreckers with immaculate interior, and was thinking of doing a front seat swap for them. My current leather is Lemon White, and it is wearing pretty badly. The previous owner didn't look after it too well, and it looks like a rotten lemon now. Lol Instead of re-trimming, I like the idea of the m3 seats, if I could get my hands on them. |

Link? My peeve with the e87 is the seat height and lack of hold (compared to a fixed back bucket). Legally I can't remove my curtain airbags, so therefore can't fit a decent fixed back.

I am looking at a set of M3 seats and was wondering if the 128i control module was the same part number as the M3.
Both the M3 and 128i seats are power/heated. I am wondering this because the M3 seats only come with one module. I can use the modules from the seats in my 1 now but want to be sure all the controls will work. M3 module part number is 61359221861903, is the 128i the same? |

Hey all,
Sorry for the hijack, but this is an older thread that looks like it generally concluded... I'm looking to make a switch the other way--135i seats into M3. From what I am reading they pretty much swap straight across. However, I read mention of airbags not working higher up...is there some sort of issue here I should be aware of? For whatever reason the M3 seats bug my SI joints, but the more straight-forward nature of the 135i seats don't seem to. Would love any advice on making this happen and not screwing anything up. |
