Oil drain plug too tight
Hi all,
Noob here! I tried doing my first oil change and got the car up in the air using ramps, but was unsuccessful because the oil drain plug was too tight. What are the settings that I should use for torque wrench? I am using the Tekton 24330 torque wrench, but I also can not get enough ground clearance to make use of the torque wrench (wrench is too tall to position it to loosen the plug). Is there any way of getting it off? Anyone located in Burlingame or the Bay Area to help out a fellow 1-er? |

25 N*m on the drain plug when putting it back on. Breaker bar to take it off. Don't forget the use a new crush washer on the drain plug.

It's a little below 27.1 N*m. In case the picture isn't clear, it's below 40.7 N*m. Also, below are the settings from Amazon if you need reference. |

You're adding the number along the shaft to the number at the dial. You want 20.4 + 4.5. In the picture you posted you're almost there, at 20.4 + 4.
