I'd love to learn coding if for no other reason than for battery registration. Im tech savvy, work in a high-tech field, but there is just something lacking when it comes to the info online. I'm generally good at finding info, and I've seen the DIYs and documents available out there. It still isn't really intuitive. I'm sure after watching someone once or twice it would be, bp but not yet for me...

After seeing this thread, I ordered the Wifi adapter off amazon then tried the lite app which worked with my 11' 135i. I bought the app and coded my car to do the fun stuff like close windows, unlock when ign turned off, and fold mirrors on lock. It worked great and did everything I wanted to, I think it was worth the $50. The app was able to be used on my Iphone as well as my Ipad. I actually coded with my ipad, but will have the app on the phone in case I have to restore if needing to go to dealer. I have my V1 hardwired through the SAVVY port from the obdii so I got a thin extension then a 2 way splitter and now I have the V1 as well as the OBDII wifi adapter hooked up at all times.

I learned to code on my E90, coding on the E8x is identical to the E9x. Used INPA/NCS Expert per the DIYs in the E9x forum. $99 cable too.
Added an alarm module, coded that, digital speedo, shift suggest lights (for economy not speed),windows close with fob, and I think a few other things. It's really easy if you follow the DIYs and back up files. The E9x coding spreadsheet is awesome

Hi guys, not sure if I should start a new thread, but I need to install and code new injectors on my MY09 E82 N54, does BMWhat app allow for this sort of coding?
If not, what is the easiest process of DIY coding injectors? |

I bought the BMWhat/Ivini Android app and BT OBDII adapter, and they work great on my wife's 2011 128i Convertible. There is no facility to code injectors with BMWhat that I can find, although you have to actually connect to the ECU for a particular car type to get a full list of modules and what you can code in each of them. I also have INPA, which is what I used to code injectors and other items with my previous 2007 E92 335i, and I think that may be your best bet for that item. I had no trouble coding things like door chime, digital speedo/actual speed, some lighting options, and so forth. So far, so good, but I'm still waiting for them to decipher the comm method used in the F-series cars so I can code my 2013 335i.

Coding?
I am in the market for some simple coding for my 2011 128i (E82). I am currently in Charlotte, NC. but reside in Hampton Virginia. If you guys don't mind lending me some assistance, I think I might be able to do some coding on my own. Currently I don't own a reader but I will look for a reliable reader to do the coding on my own. Is there anywhere in particular that I should look for the reader?
Thanks for the Assist! JusKewl |

with NCSExpert, you use a laptop and a cable. The software is available for download (free) on-line. The cable as to have a converter in it. The one I bought cost about $100. Here's a link:
http://www.one-stop-electronics.com/...&product_id=16 There are also tutorials available on-line. I wouldn't say it's exactly easy but if you follow directions it goes pretty quickly.

Sorry to bump an old thread. Is there a list of codes that anyone has compiled for the 1er with descriptions and test results? There is a Google doc for the E90 where it shows 2007-2011 and people have gone through and checked off whether the code works for their particular model year.
