What is this?

Hey guys so I was doing an engine detail today and came upon this? Never seen this part before and can't find anything on it? Its connected off of the charge pipe and seems to vent out. What is it and what is its purpose, thanks!

If you're upgrading your charge pipe, you don't need it if that's what you're getting at.

No, they're just quiet because they are recirculated back into the intake. If you unhook them from the intake and block off the holes where they were going into the intake, they'll be fairly loud.

On certain cars, you shouldn't do this, but since you have an N54 it's OK. Our motors use a MAP sensor rather than a MAF sensor. On cars with a MAF sensor, letting the diverter valves vent to the atmosphere would cause it to run rich since you are releasing air that has already been metered.

I know all about this, I already run vent to atmosphere lol I know these cars are speed density, unlike my evo which I had to tune to
