It's a nice intercooler but we believe its based on a slightly modified Spearco unit which didn't test too well. No ones tested the Dinan variant from what I know though.

I preferred the ETS intercooler as it removed the lower plastic charge pipe and some of the other rough tubing surfaces. No cutting either. This is a good alternative to something like a Forge intercooler which connects to factory o-rings.

re: trimming
I THINK it was less than my active autowerke. Let's be real, though. These are all made for the 3 series and none of them will ever fit perfectly. My kingdom for a front mount that didn't push my bumper down an extra half inch...

meh, oh well. at least my car now has a big ol' D on the front, which stands, in my case, for douchebag

The oil cooler is nice. My oil temps are noticeably lower all the time. If you want to get crazy, though, I have to believe that twin cooler setup from... was it ER?... is the business. What can I say? ER makes killer stuff.

I'm wondering too. I'll let you know after the install. I'll try to grab some pics of the plastic I'll cut out.

Well i've installed the intercooler and whiteline inserts. Problem is the previous owner already cut up the plastic trim so i didnt need to trim anything. The intercooler fit right in place..

I doubt there would be much difference between a 6 and 7" core if the surface area was about the same.

I have both the intercooler and oil cooler installed in my car. I actually thought the oil cooler was more of a pain to put in. The trimming is nothing extreme for the intercooler, just pieces of the plastic shrouds surrounding the stock intercooler. I got away with just using a dremel for the job. Dinan instructions were pretty straight forward. I felt a nice increase in power after installation, which was made improved by the stage 3 tune.
