N6 Dynavin Audio
Had a quick search but couldnt find any infor regarding the Dynavin N6 for the 1 series, found some details regarding the D99, but i think they are totally different. Has anyone installed one? Would you reccommend?
My LCD screen in my 130i fades when hot, and the bluetooth doesnt seem to be working. Was looking at OEM replacement but for similar price i can get the Dynavin. Other than the Dynavin, is there anything else? My car is pre-LCI Cheers in advance... Looks ugly imo. Why bother with all that expense when for $350 you can have the top of the range garmin with free map upgrades and faultless Bluetooth handsfree?

for bluetooth, i use a viseeo tune2air plugged into a the bmw usb-ipod connection cable. That streams all my music to the standard radio and lets me change tracks via steering wheel etc.
if you're talking about call audio over bluetooth, cant help you there. my phone pairs perfectly to the standard radio. |

so i finished the install tonight.
The storage bin removed actually has a power source that is only on when the lights are on, as my lights are always auto (i.e. halos), this is perfect. ended up wiring a 2.1A cigarette to usb charger to this power source, the just plugged the usb y-cable into the the usb charger and my jb4 usb cable, then into the OTG cable in the nexus 7. running the AutoDroid rom which comes with power management to turn the tablet on/off when power is applied to the usb port. Not many pics, but essentially the table is mounted to the housing using double sided tape, then used the bracket it came with and some longer screws to press it on with pressure. |

AWESOME!! Great work.
How are those gauges reading the info from the ecu? can you custom what gauges and how many as well? I'm heaps keen to get this done but im a rookie at this sort of stuff. |

Another pic in better lighting today.
The gauges are built into the JB4 mobile app which connects via usb, however the same can be achieved using something like torque pro and a bluetooth OBD2 dongle (however the OBD2 port is always powered so i wouldnt leave dongle plugged in for weeks without starting the car). Music is streamed via bluetooth to my viseoo tune2air. Steering wheel controls work perfectly for changing tracks, however thats it. Volume of course works as thats directly managed by the radio. If you drill a small hole near the tablet microphone, you can also setup google to accept voice commands from any screen. This works pretty well for giving voice inputs for navigation. I'll be looking into how i might be able to integrate a trackball or something like that to help with the android screen navigations so i dont have to lean forward to touch the screen. |
