CTS Turbo 135i intercooler - anyone heard of it?
Hi guys,
im looking for a fmic for my 135i and in Israel we dont have many choices in this area [not many 135i here either] what i have available is the CTS Turbo FMIC kit http://www.ctsturbo.com/cart/product...T-3300-22.html or the FORGE fmic kit. anyone with experience with them? are they any good? or all FMICS in said sizes are just about "same same" ? thank you!

This one looks just like the HPF and the VRSF (which I own and its phenomenal)
Same core, end tanks and hardware, just get the VRSF its only $430 shipped http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=731541 http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/part...nt_Mount/16586 Also in the description it says "Core dimensions are 20" long x 7" deep x 6" high, making this the largest direct fit FMIC kit on the market! Note: If you're interested in maintaining the sleeper look, rest assured this kit is a snap to install and no bumper trimming is required at all." Thats BS, you will have to trim for any 7" intercooler

hey guys
thanks for the opinions, as i stated, i cant get any other cooler, the customs in Israel is a pain in the arse to work with, especially with imported car parts so i am limited to the offerings of the workshops here. i wish i could get the vrsf and same some money, but i am afraid that is not the case in Israel about the trimming part, i guess that if i would take my bumper off installation would be easier, and im planning on making a custom pipe from the fmic to the charge pipe, already replaced the CP. thank you!

CTS is big in the VW/Audi scene and they make solid products. I didn't know they made stuff for the 1.

Lebanon is our main point in the middle east, we ship there at least once a week and if you've got the right vendor customs should not be a problem I know OP is from Israel but same applies since Lebanon has over 25% taxes on imports. |

Hi
well, i recieved the IC in a US price from a distributer here just because i was the first one to try it here so 500$ in the US translated to same amount just converted to NIS customs here is very hard on car parts, not only we pay 40% on car parts, we also pay about 50$ in commission to the different "working" hands. we have to be imaginable in the invoice or product descriptions in order to get a "pass" in customs, just that not all US sellers agree to make that kind of invoice lets say, an IC could be just an industrial air cooler or something like that that is why everything in Israel car related is so expensive. i buy almost all my gear from the US, but the big parts like my KW V3 and the IC, i just had to chat with some of our local aftermarket parts car shops to give me a proper deal Mike, believe me, we try almost all we can do the get a PASS in customs so that a simple 500$ IC wont become a 1000$ mega high tech price IC as you might guess, Lebanon and Israel are not quite business friendly if you guys here how much a 1\2 series costs in Israel im sure you gonna laugh
