Upgraded Sway Bars?

Hello All,

I am dropping the rear subframe to put in new AKG bushings and I was thinking it may be a good opportunity to upgrade the rear sway bar. I have not seen much about this during my searches so I am thinking this is not something that is commonly done.

My car is primarily a street car, weekend driver, and I do an occasional track event, nothing serious. Any thoughts on this? Is there a good option and is it worth doing? Again, I am just trying to do everything I can while the subframe is out. Thanks.

NO. Leave your stock sway and add some camber plates up front, that will get you way closer to where you probably want to go.

Sounds good. I have MCS dual adjustables with GC camber plates and am really happy with them. Thank you for the input.

I do recommend doing sway bar bushings if you're looking to change out a bunch of the other bushings in the suspension while you're in there.

Ok. Who makes nice sway bar bushings? Sorry, I just have not done that research yet.

Upgraded sway bars - what are you trying to accomplish?

If you to go to a thicker sway bar in back, you'd introduce greater understeer.

FWIW, I've left my rear sway bar stock, but went with a thicker front sway bar -- from an E93 M3 vert -- on my much-tracked 1M.

On a primarily street driven car, I see no reason to change from the stock set-up.

Just my 2 cents.
