How to replace thermostat plug?
Recently put in a new thermostat and waterpump and noticed that the electrical plug that goes into the thermostat was kind of eaten up. Is there any way to replace the plug? Also could this be the reason I get P0597 thermostat heater control unit open? There's no way the thermostat is bad I just replaced it why is it in the constantly open mode? Any help would be a great help.

you would most likely have to get the plug from bmw, or from them id expect the whole wire, but in that case, you could either take the new one, clip your old one a few inches back and then tie in the new end, or replace the entire wire/plug.. depending on where it runs to and how it integrates into the harness before reaching the ecu, i would prob replace the entire wire/plug, but if it gets intricate and would be a pain to mess with, id just clip it, wire the new end, heat shrink it and call it a day.
