Axle back exhaust
Hi guys, I'm looking to give my E88 a bit more volume/sound in the exhaust dept. but I'm only wanting to do an axle back, not into modifying too much..
Any clues where they can be bought locally in Qld, or in Aus for that matter, they all seem to be overseas suppliers. Or do local exhaust shops access and fit them?? Cheers |

I went cat less DPs and mid pipes and initially I thought it too loud but it's epic, I absolutely screams, especially in tunnels, but when driving normally in D, you can barely tell it's modded.

Every now and then a used one will pop up in the classifieds section or you could try the various facebook pages too. Just remember that as you have an E88, not all E82 exhausts will fit as there is additional cross bracing under the rear axle.
But you could try contact BMR Autowerks to see if they have any aftermarket axlebacks for sale. Another alternative is you could just try and crimp the vacuum canister hose so the flap in the exhaust stays open all the time. That adds a bit of depth to the 0-3000rpm rev range. No difference at WOT though.

Just open the stock axle back and block off the 3big holes sounds louder than BMW PE ,set you back 250-300 from an exhaust shop to do the mod

Hey dude are you ever in Brisbane? My car is booked in this Monday for a muffler delete and apparently its not as loud as you'd expect. Im getting getting a local shop which does really nice custom stainless fab work to make it up for me. If you're in/around Brisbane we could meet up if you wanted to have a listen. Its costing me half of what I was going to spend on a brand name equivalent.
